Land Rover Defender 2,000,000: Momentous Journeys (video)



Land Rover Defender 2,000,000: Momentous Journeys - Earlier this year some special Defender fans, including Global Land Rover Ambassador and conservationist Monty Halls, were invited to help build the milestone Defender 2,000,000. While visiting the factory in Solihull, UK, they were asked to share some of their favourite Defender journeys.

The Defender 2,000,000 was auctioned at Bonhams on 16th December 2015 with all proceeds going to The Born Free Foundation and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Land Rover Launches London Takeover, Celebrating The Iconic Defender (video)



Land Rover launches London takeover to celebrate the iconic Defender - The city of London is celebrating the iconic Defender as the 2,000,000th vehicle produced makes its way to Bonhams for auction on the 16th December. In a nod to the vehicle's rich heritage, Defender took over the capital for one special day, as London gets set to welcome the Defender 2,000,000 for its auction debut. The unique Defender 2,000,000 was built by an all-star cast of special guests, including Land Rover ambassador Bear Grylls. All proceeds from the sale of this unique vehicle will be donated to Land Rover's charity partners, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Born Free Foundation.

The ‘Trail by Fire’ Expedition has been awarded the eighth Land Rover Bursary, run by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). The expedition team will navigate the South American Andes in a specially modified Land Rover Defender. The vehicle, modified by Land Rover’s SVO team, is the world’s first mobile volcano observatory and will allow the team to investigate volcanic gas emissions along the Nazca tectonic plate which runs from Peru to the southern tip of Chile.
